The Lignon House
LIGNON · AUVERGNE · FRANCE
Lignon designs notebooks, stationery, and office accessories. A contemporary collection, designed and manufactured in France.
Notebooks to take away, cards to send, boxes for storing your papers: the collection supports office use. The choice of paper, the materials and the proportions are given the same attention as the typographic details.
A history of paper, in Auvergne
The house takes its name from the Lignon, a river in Auvergne whose valley was long home to mills and paper factories. The Papeteries du Pont de Lignon notably manufactured photographic paper there for the Lumière Brothers' establishments in Lyon.
Documents and printed materials from this papermaking heritage are the starting point for the collection.
From archives to contemporary objects
Lignon draws inspiration from their typography, frames, and proportions to design his own objects. An envelope with unique cutouts, a brass-rimmed eraser, or a refillable document holder: each piece is designed to be used today.

Care in manufacturing
From the choice of paper to the design of an envelope, from the texture of a cover to the brass finishes, every object reflects the same attention to detail.
The Lignon collection is manufactured in France, with a shared standard: objects that are as precise in their use as they are in their details.
In Auvergne, letterpress printing gives the paper a slight relief and a distinctive ink depth. In Thiers, scissors take shape within the French cutlery tradition. These skills give each piece its character.
